Local Phon is not a new voip company. With the recent spate of companies moving towards the cheap international calls model, localphonee.com has recently reduced their rates substantially.

LLocalPhone business model is though the use of local access number based model. You call up an access number in your country and then dial the intended international number. They have some really cheap international calling rates especially to some asian countries. They are currently offering India at 5.5 cents per minute with no connection charge. Compare that to betamax voip solutions who charges you connection rate which will in the end turn out to be a costly affair.

NOTE:  You would have to incurr cost while calling their local phone numbers, unless you have unlimited calling package. Another limitation of localphne is that its only available in certain countries namely UK, USA, Australia, Canada etc. for a start.
