Skype for business
Skyp is targeting the small business market with its voice over internet protocol (VoIP) technology. The pioneer of internet telephony claims that 30 per cent of its 309 million users now use the service for work and the firm is now attempting to establish itself in the business market. A total of 95 per cent of Skype business users save money via the service, with an estimated one in three cutting their phone bills by 50 per cent or more and over 60 per cent of firms not currently subscribing to Skype considering doing so. The majority of Skype business users (70 per cent) currently use it for traveling with work and Mr Robin has announced that the company has created a range of new business specific services, including the Business Control Panel and subscriptions for landline calls. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can now make use of a Skypie button, which can be placed on their websites to enable customers to call them via a single click.
